Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 19 and that the time of the LORD’s favour has come.”
As we were finishing the message, we knew it had impacted the hearts of the students. We were speaking to a group of high school students. Statistics show this age group struggles with pornography and sexual immorality at a very high rate.
During the message, we shared personal stories of overcoming these issues. We also presented statistics on societal damage and shared Bible passages that speak to this struggle. Our hope was that those listening would decide to change, both for their own future and for the millions of victims of sex slavery.
When we finished and gave an opportunity for prayer, students began to respond. Some confessed for the first time that they had struggled and wanted help. For many, this was the beginning of their journey.
