Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 19 and that the time of the LORD’s favour has come.”
As we were finishing the message, we knew that it had impacted the hearts of the students who were listening. We were speaking to a group of high school students at their weekly church program, and although we did not know them personally, we knew the statistics showed that this age group was dealing with pornography and sexual immorality at an extremely high percentage. As we shared personal stories of overcoming pornography or sexual immorality, stories of those who have been rescued from pornography or sex trafficking industry, statistics showing the damage it is causing to our society and parts of the Bible that speak directly into these issues, we were hoping, and believing that those listening would decide that this particular evening would be a moment in their life where they changed for the good of their future and the futures of millions of victims around the world who are trapped in sex slavery. As we finished and gave an opportunity for people to confess their destructive lifestyle and receive prayer, we saw students respond to the message and confess, some of them for the first time in their lives, that they had struggled with pornography and sexual immorality, and that they wanted help to change. This was the beginning of the journey for many of them.
